Who the heck am I though? What are my credentials within the online world and why should you trust me with your online business?
These are natural questions that one would have before trusting ANYONE online, so I want to spend a moment and explain a bit about my journey within the online world.
My Start Online…Started Back in 2002.
Back in 2002, I was working in a Computer Science lab project in college, and a classmate mentioned that they were making money from this thing called “affiliate marketing”. They briefly mentioned how it worked, and left it at that. They seemed a little secretive about the whole thing, so I was intrigued.
I spent the next few weeks figuring it out through my research what there was in terms of online information , and about a month later I was up and running with my first affiliate marketing website. The journey had started, and unlike most folks these days, there was little training to go off of.
I started within the PPC (Pay Per Click) world, and I started out with a borrowed credit card. It was actually my girlfriends card (now wife), with a budget of $5 per day in advertising.
And then a few weeks later, something revealing happened. I made my FIRST affiliate marketing sale online. I believe it was for around $30 in commissions…and at that VERY moment it became so real, I knew that I could make much more of it.
That was the point of no return…in a good way. I pushed hard over the next year, learning everything I could about the affiliate marketing space and just over the year mark, I was earning more money than my professors at school…moving to a point where I was earning MORE than a full time income. I knew this was my future.
Fast Forward 3 Years Later…
The next 3 years were very fruitful ones for me within the online world. I took my affiliate marketing campaigns to the next level, earning a growing 6-figure income all the next 3 years online taking advantage of many niches, and all sorts of opportunities.
Then on a winter Saturday night when out with a few friends, I bumped into an old college mate. That person happened to be Carson, the one that introduced me to the concept of affiliate marketing. We discussed the online business world, and decided we should meet to “join forces”and combine our unique skill sets within the online world.
Over the coming weeks, we put together plans to start a business HELPING affiliate marketers and aspiring affiliate marketers create success online. We figured that if we could do it, we could help others as well. Subsequently, in Sept 2005 we started what at the time was a little website dedicated to affiliate marketers, called Wealthy Affiliate.
This “small” website has since evolved into the most respected, most advanced, and most thorough affiliate marketing platform in the world….with over 2.7+ MILLION members, many of which have gone from nothing to very successful online.
20 Years Later…My Mission is Helping Folks Like YOURSELF Succeed…
I have been at this 21 years full time online now, and over the years have literally worked directly with 100,000’s of aspiring and very successful entrepreneurs. This includes helping folks achieve 7-figure success online, and working with budding entrepreneurs helping them get over some initial hurdles starting a business online.

It is a very clear and concise article explaining a journey that started off small and has become super successful. I love being a part of the Wealthy Affiliate Community and have enjoyed learning about building my own online business and finding the joy in writing again.
In the article you mention working on a number of niches. What would you say is a profitable niche?
Every successful business starts off small, before it goes big. This includes the biggest brands in the world, that are now trillion dollar companies. The likes of Apple, Amazon…they started in a garage or a basement with a simple ambition and a dream. They have become what you see today through effort, through innovation, and through time.
I am not saying anyone can create a trillion dollar company, but I fully believe that ANYONE can create a successful business online to replace their income. They need to start small, put forth the effort, and give themselves time.
As for niches, ALL niches can be highly profitable. You make them that way. Just remember there are over 5 BILLION people online, that is your potential audience. 😉

It is not only an intriguing story but also provides motivation to fledgling affiliate marketers such as myself who may have wasted time in the past but are hopeful that the efforts poured into such an endeavor will pay off in the long run.
I am curious about the link to contact you directly in WA though as when I clicked it I was given the option to search public answers or ask my question publicly but not actually communicate with you directly.
No need to waste any more time, now that you have found your way into WA! The problem is that people tend to get “part” of the picture, but not the whole thing. And there is the natural tendency to chase shiny objects that tell you are going to get rich fast. These are distractions.
Building a business online is not complex, there is not a lot of moving pieces. You have a potential customer, you have a product they can and will buy, your job is to connect the two through helping that potential customer. That is the process, in its rawest form (on the affiliate marketing side of things).

I see that I can do much more here! I have encountered a few challenges (like getting my affiliate links to stay blue) but I will continue. I have been on the internet for years and your WA system is by far the best I have ever found!
Yes, you can do MUCH more than promote an existing network marketing company, though that could be part of your plans and become part of the income stream that you generate as a result of what you will be learning within Wealthy Affiliate.

It’s pretty clear that you truly care about helping others succeed in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable.
The only way to fail is to quit. That is the way I approach anything, in particular anything that I want to get good at. The reason I see most people fail online is because they are incapable of hitting stumbling blocks, they find it easier to just give up then to figure out a problem and move through it.
In fact, that happens with a high % of people, so if you are willing to work hard, work through problems, and learn…you have a competitive advantage in the business world (and in life).
Also, another approach is to help people. That is the best business strategy that I know of, and that leads to longevity in business. If you can help people, you establish trust (and a brand) and that is going to lead to your ability to sell and recommend products/services at a much higher rate.
Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Work hard, stay consistent, and never stop. Success WILL happen!
